SECRETARY REPORT

The Easter Egg hunt was highly successful; we had 54 children attend and received $212.00 in donations. Two individuals offered to purchase the mulch required for the playground.

The cost to repair the merry-go-round is approximately $167.70. Cody Ball, Buddy, and I will volunteer our time to complete the repairs. Each swing costs $69.93, and all should be replaced. There are four swings, plus another baby swing costing $48.92 that needs installation. Additionally, the building requires a new window as one has been broken for an extended period.

Regarding Paul Maliza’s research into the Wyside Cemetery, it remains owned by the Barclays.

Currently, the county lacks zoning or ordinances regarding wind and solar farms. They are developing some zoning regulations, and Russ Braun mentioned that building permits would be required.

Concerning blight, I have spoken with Mrs. Bumbarger. Her husband works out of town as a lineman, and they plan to demolish the building when they have time. I have noticed that there is now a piece of equipment at the site.

Loretta Lininger wants to rent the ballfield on June 21st for a fundraiser for her daughter’s State Rodeo expenses.

A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Jim Howard to rent the ballpark to Loretta.  All in favor, aye, passed.

ROADMASTER REPORT

Not much to report. Waiting for the rain to stop to clean out ditches. Jim and Melvin will survey Jerry Run Road to estimate repair costs for Emporium Hardwoods due to their bonding of the road.

Jim Howard mentioned he would like to purchase the side mower for the Skidsteer and a trailer large enough to haul the equipment when required.  He will get some quotes for the next meeting.   Robert Bushor also said it would be nice to get an attachment made to help lay berm material down on the roads.

BUSINESS

Melvin reported that the building at the park is experiencing issues with the hot water system. He repaired the leak under the sink and will investigate the hot water tank.

Melvin asked the Board of Supervisors if the township could help cover the $10,000 annual insurance for the fire hall and vehicles. He hopes Grove, Gibson, Driftwood, and the fire department can share the cost to ease the financial burden.

The Supervisors agreed to cover 25% of the total cost, contingent upon contributions from both Grove and Driftwood.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Diane Ball, representing the Fire Police of Sinnamahoning, asked if extra cars could park on the old tennis court during Snake Hunt weekend if it’s dry. The group agreed, suggesting cones or marking paint to designate the area.

Dale inquired about damage on Three Runs Road and a materials list. Jim and Melvin will inspect and compile the list. Dale also asked about grant money for Jericho Road and the timeline for repairs, as well as whether any grants have been applied for a new building. Brandie replied that no specific grants have been applied, with the next opportunity in September. Dale then asked Robert Bushor if he would run for Supervisor again.

Karen inquired about obtaining signs that read “Welcome to Sinnamahoning”. Brandie explained that Randy Bailey would be the best person to consult regarding how Driftwood secured funding for their signs and where they were ordered from.

Elizabeth asked if a blight letter would be sent to Chris and Leann Wheeler about their collapsed garage. Robert Bushor moved, and Jim Howard seconded, to send the letter to Leann Wheeler. The motion passed unanimously.
