FINANCIAL REPORT FOR February

All presents were in favor and the motion passed

SECRETARY REPORT:

There was a letter from Cameron County Ambulance Service asking for us to donate some of our Act 13 money, it was voted down again due to the ambulance service not covering the Township.

Sinnamahoning Sportsmen’s Club asked to use the parking lot across from the ball field again this year for snake hunt weekend.  There is no problem with that, Brandie will let them know.

Easter Egg hunt is April 8th, and the Spring cleanup will be April 29th

ROADMASTER REPORT:

The bridge guy will be coming down with the crane operator to confirm there is room enough for it.  Waiting on the Engineers to do the application for a permit so we can get started.

BUSINESS:

Gibson Township has offered to purchase the Mack Truck for $30,000, since they are a Municipality we don’t have to put it out for bid.  We have 9 miles of roads that are paved with only a little bit of dirt road n Sand rock.  Melvin explains that we will be looking into getting another small truck for back up purposes.

A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to sell the Mack truck to Gibson Township for $30,000.

All presents were in favor and the motion passed

Phil Brown attended out meeting to explain his job as Shippen Township’s Code enforcement officer.  He has the power to write a non-traffic ticket but has no arresting powers.  When there is a complaint filed the first step is to write a letter and they have 30 days to fix the issue, then a 2nd letter.  There is a lot of success with the letters but there are some that can be a real struggle to get the issues fixed.

PUBLIC COMMENT:

Jim Howard asked if the Township had gotten an appraisal done on the truck to make sure we know what it was worth before selling it.  The Supervisors explained what we had bought it for and what we had done with it.

Pay Bills as Presented:

A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to pay bills as presented.

All present in favor and motion passed
