SECRETARY REPORT
If anyone is interested September 19th is the annual Driftwood Days there will be a cornhole tournament, live music, food trucks and many vendors for a day of fun.
Paul explained that different rates cannot be charged to seasonal and resident customers if both receive the same services, and that the Township cannot pay only for residents’ trash service under those circumstances.
Dumpster costs to date are $22,627.44, compared with $28,375.72 for January through December last year. Customer payments for 2026 total $53,270 and scrap metal payment of $533.90. Jim Howard asked whether these figures included collection costs, payroll, fuel, truck expenses, and workers’ compensation. They did not, so Brandie will prepare that report.
ROADMASTER REPORT
The F550 will need new tires soon, as well as the gas F550 needs the fuel lines fixed and an exhaust clamp put on.
Roadside mowing has been completed, and crews will now finish cleaning the culverts and placing the delineators.
Jim and Butch asked Todd Deluccia about storing stone on the property between the dumpster and the bridge, and he approved. Jim would also like to donate the trees to anyone willing to cut and remove them.
Todd Deluccia said the Jericho Road dip project is closed, so no additional funds are available to pay the contractor. The repair will likely cost a few hundred dollars, which the Township will need to cover.
PARK REPORT
Jim Howard has purchased the new lights for the park, and they will get them replaced this next month.
BUSINESS
Opening of the bids for crack sealing and tar and chipping some of the roads There was two bids one from Russell Standard in the total amount of $73,947.95 and Penn Stone Paving LLC in the total amount of $40,500.00
A motion was made by Jim Howard to award the job to Penn Stone Paving and seconded by Melvin Kehl. Motion carried unanimously.
The guys will need to prep the roads before the tar and chipping can be done.
Robert Bushor made a motion that the township would be able to use the backhoe to fix any issues that may arise with Crestline and seconded by Melvin Kehl. Motion carried unanimously.
Jim Howard asked Brandie to send a notice to Robert Vilscek, 69 Lick Island, Sinnemahoning, PA 15861, regarding the high grass, which has been mowed only once.
Public Comment
Elizabeth Stoner has nothing.
Dale Wood asked whether backhoe rental for work on personal property would be available to all township residents, since the Township plans to use it for Crestline. It was noted that Crestline is owned by the Township. Brandie will contact PSATS for guidance.
Dale Wood asked about the solid waste deficit, which had been discussed earlier in the meeting. Brandie said she will prepare a more detailed report for the next meeting. Dale also asked how many trash bills are sent out, and Brandie reported 10 commercial accounts, 531 camps, and 33 residents. Dale said his count, completed with volunteers, shows the Township is short by about 60 camps. Brandie said she uses the County taxpayer list and information from DCNR about state camps. Dale suggested that someone from the Township drive around to verify that each camp is included in the billing system. Brandie said she will not drive around and do that.
Dale asked why the Township does not use a power backpack blower to clear the roads after mowing. The Supervisors said they have a backpack blower and do clear the roads when they mow.
Jim Howard told Dale Wood that he is always so negative towards the Township, and no matter what the Supervisors do to improve the Township.
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Jim Howard to pay bills as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Next regular meeting will be held on September 9, 2026, starting at 5:00 at Grove Township building.
