SECRETARY REPORT
The scrap metal dumpster was emptied, and a check for $247.40 was received.
The Sinnemahoning Sportsman Club requested to use the parking lot across from the park for the Snake Hunt event on June 14 and 15, 2025. A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to approve the request for Snake Hunt weekend. The motion was passed unanimously.
West Penn has been informed about a fallen tree that has pulled down the wire supplying electricity to the park’s pole. Bob Wirt requested that I inform the Supervisors that large trucks hauling lumber have significantly rutted the cemetery on Jerich, and stones were pushed into the cemetery during plowing.
ROADMASTER REPORT
Winter maintenance is currently underway due to the frequent pop-up storms. Additional supplies of stone and salt have been ordered. Melvin reported using the newer F550 on several occasions for plowing, finding it effective. He mentioned that adjusting the height of the bed requires a significant amount of time due to its electric operation instead of hydraulic. Additionally, a curved boot must be ordered to be installed on the plow to prevent snow from accumulating on the windshield.
BUSINESS
The Easter Egg hunt will be on April 19, 2025 this year.
Robert Bushor moved, and Melvin Kehl seconded, to set the Spring cleanup for March 29th and the Fall cleanup for October 11th. The motion passed unanimously.
Jim Howard inquired about progress on the three camps that received blight letters last year. No noticeable progress has been made, though one camp obtained a demolition permit. He requested a second letter be sent to all camps, and if no action is taken, we will escalate the code enforcer. Brandie will consult with Paul Malizia about a deadline for cleanup.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Dale inquired to make sure the cost of the Kubota which was close to $70,000
Dale asked about the payments to Foster Wineland. Brandie and Melvin explained that it is a John Deere dealer and that the backhoe was repaired there. The transmission plates needed replacement.
Elizabeth Stoner highlighted the need to identify the rightful owner of the Y-side cemetery, suggesting that we might ask an attorney to conduct a search.
She also mentioned the necessity of compiling a list of items that require repair at the playground.
Additionally, she inquired about the progress on the wind and solar ordinances. Brandie will check with the zoning department to determine the county’s current regulations.
