GROVE TOWNSHIP 2025 Reorganization MEETING
January 6, 2025
Meeting called to order at 4:00
Present: Robert Bushor, Melvin Kehl, Brandie Sherry, via zoom Jim Howard
Visitors: Dale Wood, via zoom Elizabeth Stoner
Jim Howard nominated Robert Bushor for the position of Chairperson of the Board. Melvin Kehl seconded this nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor, and Robert Bushor will serve as the 2025 Chairperson.
Robert Bushor nominated Jim Howard for the position of Vice-Chairman of the Board. Melvin Kehl seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor, and Jim Howard will serve as the 2025 Vice-Chairman.
Jim Howard nominated Melvin Kehl for the position of Roadmaster. Robert Bushor seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor, and Melvin Kehl will serve as the 2025 Roadmaster.
Robert Bushor moved to appoint Brandie Sherry as the 2025 Secretary and Treasurer with an hourly pay rate of $18.00. Melvin Kehl seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor, and Brandie Sherry will serve as the 2025 secretary & treasurer.
Melvin Kehl moved to maintain the current amount of Treasures Bond ($500,000) with no increase needed. Robert Bushor seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor, resulting in no bond increase.
Robert Bushor moved to maintain the current wages for Gibson Township’s employees for 2024, with no raises being given. Melvin Kehl seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously in favor, resulting in no salary increases for the upcoming year.
Robert Bushor nominated Russ Braun for the position of sewage enforcement officer. Melvin Kehl seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor of Russ Braun will serve as the 2025 SEO.
Robert Bushor nominated Paul Malizia as the 2025 solicitor. Jim Howard seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor of Paul Malizia will serve as the 2025 Solicitor.
Jim Howard nominated Dale Wood as the 2025 Chairperson of the vacancy board. The nomination was seconded by Melvin Kehl. The vote was unanimously in favor, Dale Wood will serve as the 2025 Chairperson of the vacancy board.
Jim Howard nominated Robert Bushor as the 2025 representative for Earned Income tax bureau. Melvin Kehl seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor, Robert Bushor will serve as the 2025 earned income tax bureau representative.
Robert Bushor nominated Brandie Sherry as the 2025 member for the solid management bureau. Jim Howar seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor, Brandie Sherry will serve as the 2025 solid waste management bureau representative.
Robert Bushor nominated Ed Siekierka as the 2025 emergency management coordinator. Jim Howard seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously in favor, Ed Siekierka will serve as the 2025 EMC.
Robert Bushor moved to set the mileage rate for Supervisors and employees using their own vehicles for Township business and meetings at 70 cents per mile (IRS rate). Melvin Kehl seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously approved, and the mileage rate for 2025 will be seventy cents per mile.
Robert Bushor moved to keep C&N and PLGIT as the depository for Grove Township. Jim Howard seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously approved, and the depository will remain C&N and PLGIT.
Robert Bushor moved to keep Troxell & Associates as our CPAs for Grove Township. Jim Howard seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously approved, the CPA will remain Troxell & Associates.
Robert Bushor nominated Phil Brown for the position of code-enforcer. Melvin Kehl seconded the nomination. The vote was unanimously approved, Phil Brown will be the 2025 code enforcer.
Jim Howard moved to certify that supervisors or secretary may attend the annual PSATS conference (May 4-7) in Hersey and the township will pay for the conference, motel, and mileage. Robert Bushor seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously approved.
Robert Bushor moved that the township meetings be held on the 2nd Wednesday of the month @5:00p.m. at the Grove Township municipal building. Jim Howard seconded the motion. The vote was unanimously approved.
The dates for the 2025 meetings are:
February 12th , March 12th, April 9th, May 14th, June 11th, July 9th, August 13th, September 10th, October 8th, November 5th, (first Wednesday due to Brandie going out of town), December 10th and the 2026 reorganization meeting will be January 5th.
Robert Bushor moved to adjourn the January 6, 2025, reorganization meeting. Jim Howard seconded it. The vote was unanimously approved, meeting was adjourned at 4:17 p.m.
