GROVE TOWNSHIP MINUTES
REGULAR MEETING
October 12, 2022
Chairman Robert Bushor called the Wednesday October 12, 2022, meeting to order in the Grove Township Bldg. at 5:00 pm,
Present were, Robert Bushor, Melvin Kehl, and Brandie Sherry Frank Ross via phone
Absent:
Visitors: Elizabeth Stoner, Walter Sipes, April Kehl
ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:
READING OF THE MINUTES of September Meeting minutes
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to accept the minutes as presented.
All presents were in favor and the motion carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT FOR September
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to accept the financial reports as presented.
All presents were in favor and the motion carried.
SECRETARY REPORT:
We received a letter from the County Commissioners that they are holding a meeting concerning opening roads to ATV and the benefits it would have on our area. The meeting is tonight at 6:00, I sent them a response explaining it was the night of our meeting that no one would be able to attend. Misty Lupro had explained at the Driftwood meeting that the meeting is to try and get the townships that haven’t opened their roads to ATV use to open them so they can get a trail from down this way to Emporium and back.
Budget time is here, so I will be getting all the figures together so that in November we can present the budget for public viewing then vote in December.
A letter from Shireen Sipe was in the mailbox today, the letter states that she will be resigning from her tax collector position effective January 15, 2022.
A motion was made by Melvin Kehl to amend the agenda and add the letter from Shireen to the agenda so they may accept her resignation, and Robert Bushor seconded the motion.
All present were in favor and the motion was carried.
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to accept Shireen Sipe’s resignation from the Township tax collector.
All present were in favor and the motion was carried.
Elizabeth Stoner stated that she is interested in filling the position of tax collector and has completed the class that is needed.
The Supervisors stated that they will think about it and see if anyone else in interested in the position before making their decision.
ROADMASTER REPORT:
Melvin reported that the Townships section of 3 Runs Road and Sand rock have been fixed up this year. Not much other work going on, preparing for winter maintenance. The salt has been ordered.
Due to a supply issue ADM informed us the bridge will not be done until late this year, therefore the township will wait until spring to have the bridge installed.
BUSINESS:
Cy Hardinger was our vacancy board member, and he has passed away, so this position needs to be filled. April Kehl has agreed to fill the vacancy until the end of the year.
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to appoint April Kehl as the vacancy board member.
All present in favor and motion carried.
Resolution to adopt act 57 is required by all municipalities to adopt.
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to approve the Resolution to adopt act 57.
All present in favor and motion carries.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Walt Sipe was attending the meeting to inquire about what is going to happen if Delp doesn’t get the scrap clean up. He was wondering if it was true the township was planning on putting up no trespassing signs in our road right away, Robert Bushor explained nothing at the moment is being done we are waiting for Paul Malize to get back to us with some answers, as to what is our next step.
Pay Bills as Presented:
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to pay bills as presented.
All present in favor and motion carried.

Next meeting will be held on November 9, at 5:00pm at the Grove Township building.
