SECRETARY REPORT
Invited to a virtual meeting via Microsoft Teams at 1:00 pm on April 18, 2024, for a preconstruction meeting for improvement of certain State highways in Cameron, Clearfield and Elk as well as various Township and Boroughs.
There has been a 911 address created for the park in case someone needs emergency services there. The address is 9853 Wykoff Run Road, will need to get a sign made to hang over there.
We had 42 children attend the egg hunt this year, as usual they all had fun.
April 20th will be the first clean up day of the year.
On May 15 -16, 8-4 there will be a Dirt and Gravel class offered at Port Allegany and we need someone certified with this class to eligible for grants, Melvin Kehl will attend the class.
ROADMASTER REPORT
The plow and the spreader have been removed from the truck, pretty sure that winter snow removal is over for the season.
Melvin and Robert went around and measured the roads and thought that the Township could get away with just getting the cracks repaired and hold off on the tar and chipping.
A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Jim Howard to get the roads repaired by having the cracks sealed.
All in favor, aye, passed.
NEW BUSINESS
It was brought up and discussed a little about purchasing a new zero turn to mow the playground and cemetery. Jim suggested that it be diesel, and to contact Jeff Howard up at the Kubota dealer at Potato City.
The supervisors will look into getting quotes will be and then more discussion at the next meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Dale Wood wrote a letter to the Cameron County Commissioners asking when Cameron County is going to get serious about restoring ambulance service to the Sinnemahoning, Grove Township areas. He talks about the money that is handed out for all kinds of things in the community but yet we are dependent on Potter County, Clinton County and Elk County for our emergency service.
The Cameron County Commissioners did respond to Dale’s letter stated that in February 2018 there was a meeting held to discuss and find a solution to the numerous turnovers mutual aid calls to Cameron County Ambulance from Sinnemahoning Ambulance for several years. The agreement was to reach out to our neighboring county agencies and establish additional mutual aid agreements with them to cover part of Sinnemahoning ambulance’s primary response area.
Dale suggested the Township reach out to Paul Malizia about this issue,
It was also pointed out by the Brandie, Melvin and April that the biggest problem is lack of manpower, if there isn’t people to drive the ambulances and respond then it doesn’t matter how much money is donated to the ambulance services, they still will not be able to respond. This is Country wide issues.
Dale asked how it went with the 4-wheeler path. Melvin stated that Lewis was supposed to be up two weeks ago and bring a pipe to install there. It has not happened yet; Melvin will put stone in there if the pipe isn’t installed.
Jim Howard asked April Kehl (tax collector) why there is no early pay discount on our real estate taxes, he gets a discount on his property in Benezette, so he was wondering why we don’t offer one. April is going to investigate that.
