SECRETARY REPORT

A letter from Tina and the Chamber of Commerce concerned the use of the park on June 19th for an event featuring live music, food, and alcohol. Jim asked Brandie to look into PLCB regulations, liability, and township matters.

Jim Howard made a motion to allow the Chamber of Commerce to use the park on June 19th, provided that the Township assumes no liability. The motion was seconded by Melvin Kehl. All were in favor; the motion passed.

All 627 trash bills for 2026 have been mailed out. I updated the files this year.

A certified letter was sent to Rick Bash for his late holding tank inspection fee with a payment date of January 15th or it will go to court.

First invoices were sent to Driftwood and Gibson for Decembers plowing

I called and talked to the phone company, and we should see a decrease in our phone bill.

ROADMASTER REPORT

F550 was inspected and had to have a couple lights replaced, the spreaders on both trucks have been fixed.

Only road work being done currently is plowing

PARK REPORT

The fence is done, building has been winterized and the bathrooms are locked for the winter.

BUSINESS

Since the holiday bonus was not decided before Christmas, Robert Bushor proposed giving each employee (excluding supervisors) a $100 bonus. Jim Howard seconded the motion. The votes were all in favor, so the motion passed.

Robert Bushor mentioned that Crestline septic systems will need pumped this year, as summer approaches he will set it up to be done.  If everyone does it the same time it typically is cheaper.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Elizabeth asked if anyone had attended the solar/wind meeting and if we had got the minutes or any information about.

Dale asked what “in lieu of taxes” meant, and Brandie explained that it refers to state funds provided for state-owned land within the township.

He also brought up the Rainy-Day fund he had previously recommended and questioned the Town’s plan if they do not receive the grant. Robert replied that they would have to continue applying for grants until one is approved.

Additionally, Dale wondered if Driftwood and Gibson approach the town for assistance, where should the town seek help if needed. Jim Howard responded that their goal is to remain self-sufficient by maintaining extra trucks and equipment, so they don’t need to rely on outside assistance.

A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Jim Howard to pay bills as presented.  Motion carried unanimously.

Next regular meeting will be held on February 11,2026, starting at 5:00 at Grove Township building.

The motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl  to adjourn the January 5, 2026 meeting  at 6:39. Motion carried unanimously.
