GROVE TOWNSHIP MINUTES

REGULAR MEETING
January 3, 2022

Chairman Robert Bushor called the Monday January 3, 2022, meeting to order in the Grove Township Bldg. at 5:20pm,

Present were, Robert Bushor, Frank Ross, Melvin Kehl and Brandie Sherry

Absent: none

Visitors: Dale Wood, and Robert Garman

ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA:  none

READING OF THE MINUTES of December Meeting

            A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to accept the minutes as presented.

            All presents were in favor and the motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORT FOR December

            Brandie explained the report is not complete because of the holidays and beginning of the month, she read what she had off the bank statements, a more detailed one will be available in February.

            A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Frank Ross to accept the financial reports as presented.

            All presents were in favor and the motion carried.

SECRETARY REPORT:

             Online payments are up and working, the customers who use it pay with their card or check, I receive an email about it, and the money is transferred into our bank account the next day.

            We need large item clean up dates, everyone has been asking me when they will be. It was decided to have the clean ups days on April 9th and October 8th for the hours of 9-4 both days.

            A motion was made by Robert Bushor to accept the dates of April 9th and October 8th to be clean up days, it was seconded by Melvin Kehl.

            All present were in favor and the motion carried.

ROADMASTER REPORT:

            When the guide rail was installed, they were able to use most of the old rail we had, this saved us some money. There was a load of salt and stone delivered to the township, Melvin has mixed it into the salt shed.

BUSINESS:

            The bid limit has been to contracts that exceed $21,900

PUBLIC COMMENT:

             Robert Garman asked if there was a permit to put dirt out back of the township building, Frank explained the soil and conservation office got out the maps and show them where it was ok to put the dirt.

            Robert wanted to know when the campers’ rates for trash was increased, he is worried that the Township will face a lawsuit over the increase. It was explained the raise in price happened last year, and there has been little complaining about it.

            Robert asked why we do not get a different SEO, that Russ Braun seems too high. If Robert can get Brandie the name of the SEO, he is currently working with she will call him and find out all the details. 

            Dale Wood gave Frank Ross a letter that explains why he has been questioning the issues that he has been at the past meetings.

Pay Bills as Presented:

            A motion was made by Robert Bushor and seconded by Melvin Kehl to pay bills as presented.

            All present in favor and motion carried.

Other reports:

            Next meeting will be held on February 9, 2022, at 5:00pm at the Gibson Township building.
