SECRETARY REPORT

The Cameron County Ambulance service requested a donation. Since they have served all of Grove Township this year, the Supervisors agreed to donate $250.00 to them.

  • Robert Bushor motioned; Jim Howard seconded.
  • All in favor, aye. Motion passed.

Jim Howard, Melvin Kehl, and Brandie Sherry will attend the 18th annual Equipment Show and Training at the Clearfield Fairgrounds on May 28th.

ROADMASTER REPORT

Ditches and trees will be cleaned once the rain stops. Emporium Hardwoods have completed log hauling across Three Runs Road and no longer need the bond. Melvin inspected the road last week and noted it has remained in good condition since last year’s milling, though some potholes remain from the log trucks. Brandie will contact Hardwoods about purchasing stones to repair these holes. Sandrock is also in good shape.

BUSINESS

Brandie provided the Supervisors and the public with a breakdown of the expenses for plowing Driftwood and Gibson’s roads. The remaining stone and salt from the last purchase were hardly used and will be kept for next year.

Jim Howard suggested buying a boom mower for the skid steer to mow our own roadsides. Melvin Kehl recommended getting a trailer to safely haul the skid steer instead of using the truck bed.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Elizabeth Stoner

Last year, a resident questioned Wyside Cemetery’s poor condition and who is responsible for its maintenance. Although Brandie and Robert checked the courthouse records, only a 1910 map signed by several Barclays was found, and the owner remains unknown.

She emphasized the need to establish solar and wind ordinances promptly. She also inquired about necessary repairs at the playground. Brandie listed them: replacing a broken swing, new wood for the merry-go-round, installing a weed barrier and mulch, fixing the border, installing a new window in the building, and cleaning up the monument with a Lumber Heritage information board. Robert suggested waiting for Jim’s return to assess costs and possibly secure a grant.
